Nib Feed Pliers (Tool PTS6)

 NIB-FEED PLIERS. FOR PULLING OUT STUBBORN NIB/FEED COMBINATIONS FROM THE SECTIONS OF FOUNTAIN PENS. Our most popular pliers!  A must have for any pen repair kit. 

Based on tools found in tool crib surplus from the Parker factory in Janesville, these have been re-designed, in-house, to allow the handles to close more completely and thus be a more natural fit for your hand. Gripping radius is .160".

Before using these pliers, one should make sure the nib/feed/section has been soaked a few minutes, preferably in an ultrasonic cleaner, to make things a little more prone to slide out. A little heat to make things more flexible and resistant to cracking is also recommended. Waving and rotating the front of the pen in a 150 degree Fahrenheit airflow for a few minutes is is recommended. Once again, DON'T USE A HEAT GUN!!! They can ruin a pen in a matter of seconds!

When using these pliers, fit the nib/feed combination into the jaws so the curved, metal nib fits into the curved side of the jaws and the feed is up against the flat side of the plier's jaws.

REPLACEMENT UPPER (CURVED) JAWS FOR PTS6 NIB/FEED PLIERS. These come in 2 sizes, STANDARD & OVERSIZE. The tool comes with the STANDARD size have a gripping radius of .160". The OVERSIZED alternative has a gripping radius of .260", for those of you fortunate enough to have nibs that need pliers larger than standard sized. These jaws come on and off the pliers using a set screw in the jaws using a 0.076" (1.93mm) Allen wrench.
REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE LOWER JAW OF OUR PTS6 NIB REMOVAL PLIERS.  Replacement part with new rubber linning. These seldom wear out, but some people have requested replacements. Easy to switch out with standard 5/16" wrench and a screwdriver.
