Nib Pliers with Thin Jaw Tips (Tool RBLK-N & RBLK-W)

SPECIALIZED NIB PLIERS WITH VERY THIN VACUUM HARDENED JAW TIPS - EACH SINGLE SIDE OF EACH JAW IS 0.0065" / 0.17 mm- THICK. THE TIPS OF THE JAWS COME IN TWO WIDTHS, A WIDE (RBLK-W) at 9/32" (7.5 mm), AND A NARROW (RBLK-N) at 5/32" (4 mm).  

These dimensions make it possible to work through the slit between the tines and into the sides of the mounted nib/feed combination to tweak and manipulate the top and bottom of the nib. The delicate jaws have been vacuum hardened to minimize flexing of the tool. This rigidity has been found to make a tremendous difference in the performance of this type of tool. The pliers are built with a box joint for smooth rigidity. It is recommended to wear eye protection when using these or any hand tools. 

The design of these pliers was a 3 year collaboration of Pentooling with some of the most noted nib people in the country. You might find their initials in the part numbers of these items.

note: When using these pliers, due to the hardness and thinness, they should be thought of and used as delicate instruments, not as channel locks; don't use them to turn no. 6 nuts and bolts and don't drop them!
