TOOL FOR REMOVING THE NIB / COLLAR FROM A MONTBLANC 149. This will work on MB 149s with notches at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock relative to the nib position as shown in the photos below. These are the older 149s; the later ones have the notches at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock and this tool won't work on the later models.

Note: Some 149s (pre-1990) don't use a nib orientation registration system consisting of a flat spot on the end of the sleeve that the nib/feed fit into. So your 149 may not have the front slots at 12:00 and 6:00. If it doesn't, this tool won't work on it unless you can get your 149 apart and align the nib, feed and sleeve so the slots are at 12:00 and 6:00 when putting it back together. And if you are having a 149 worked on by someone else, request that they align the slots to the 12:00 and 6:00 positions.
