Ultrasonic cleaning occurs when ultra high frequency audio waves (APPROX 40 KHZ) are passed through a cleaning solution creating cavitation and microscopic bubbles collapsing into themselves.  This creates a high energy vacuum effect which safely pulls debris, foreign particles and other contaminants from the surfaces being cleaned.  With ultrasonic cleaning, both interior and exterior surfaces including crevices are thoroughly cleaned.  These bubbles are small enough to penetrate even microscopic crevices. Ultrasonic cleaning has been proven to be sixteen times more effective than manual methods. 

Dale FINDs THAT ALTERNATING SOAKS IN AN ULTRASONIC CLEANER FOLLOWED BY THE APPLICATION OF HEAT GENTLY LOOSENS STUBBORN PEN FITTINGS.  THIS UNIT HAS A 1.4 PINT STAINLESS STEEL OVAL TANK, 6” LONG X 2.5” DEEP.  PROVIDING 35 WATTS@ 42 KHZ.  THIS UNIT HAS A PUSH BUTTON START THAT INITIATES A 3 MINUTE RUN.  IT ALSO HAS AN OFF BUTTON IF YOU DON’T WANT TO RUN THE FULL PERIOD.  I’VE USED ONE OF THESE UNITS FOR 6 YEARS AND NEVER HURT A PEN WITH IT.  IT RUNS ON 120 VOLTS @ 60 HZ AC AND USES A STANDARD TWO BLADE POLARIZED PLUG COMMONLY USED IN THE US.
