ITEM #3755: PARKER 51 BLACK VACUMATIC SET WITH LINED GOLD FILLED CAPS.  No dents or dings in the caps which have gold filled clips. "..6." date code on barrel, "19_ _" on nib. The twist action pencil uses a .036" lead. Medium nib on the pen. A very clean, sharp looking standard sized set.

ITEM #3600: PARKER 51 DEMI SIZED VACUMATIC IN GREY WITH "7" DATE CODE ON BARREL.  Fine nib and Lustraloy cap with no dings or dents. Nickel plated Blue Diamond clip. The blue diamond has no blue paint and I believe it came from the factory this way, as there is no trace of chipped blue paint.

1) REMOVING THE 5 WINDOWED CLUTCH FROM A STANDARD SIZED 51 SO YOU CAN ALSO PUSH THE INNER CAP OUT AND END UP WITH AN EMPTY CAP SHELL. This tool can also be used on the early, longer caps for 61s that have 5 window clutches; use the 51 Demi clutch attachment in the next item listing for this.

2) PROVIDING A MANDREL THAT MATCHES THE SHAPE OF THE INSIDE OF A STANDARD SIZE 51 CAP AND A STEEL ROLLER THAT ARE USED TO SMOOTH OUT DENTS AND DINGS IN THE GOLD FILLED, 14k GOLD, OR SILVER CAPS. We also carry mandrels for Parker 51 Demis, 51 pencils (both twist & cap actuated), 61s, and 75s. You'll find these listed below.

(Note: A different clutch insert & mandrel are required for Demis - and the Demi clutch remover will also work on early 61 clutches.)

You need to use a brass bristled brush (AVAILABLE BELOW; "51BRUSH") to clean out any dirt or residue from the inside of the cap so the roller does not carry the lumps through to the outside, as the mandrel will press their shapes out to the surface. Some 51 inner caps will also leave a "Bathtub Ring" of crud caked up where the inner cap ended and this must be scrubbed out with the brass brush or at times even filed smooth with a curved file.

You then insert the mandrel into the cap and roll the dents out with a supplied roller. You can also use a small rawhide mallet to get sharper dings out. DO NOT EVER USE A METAL HAMMER unless you're out to create some kind of hammered piece of "artwork".

This is one of the neatest tools I've ever used. You usually can't tell a cap had dents or dings in it when you're done using this.

ITEM #4066: PARKER 51 DEMI IN PLUM.  Spotless Gold Filled cap with 5 line converging pattern terminating in a point at the top separated by a blank space wide at the top with a point at the cap band. The nib is a wide medium on a Parker factory nib grader. The intake has been tested and comes out to .6 cc. That's about average for a Demi. Pen is 5.043" long, .474" dia. @ cap band. No dents or dings.

ITEM #3983: MINT PARKER 51 VACUMATIC IN CORDOVAN BROWN. NEVER INKED.This piece is so mint that I do not want to even polish it. It is incredibly free of even the smallest visible scratches and the brushed finish on the cap is impeccable. It comes with the un-touched patina on the clip with a perfect blue diamond (That's a glint on the left of the blue diamond in the second picture, not a chip). This pen has been tested for ink intake and it demonstrated a take-in capability of an incredible 1.9 cc - with water. It has a very crisp1st quarter of 1948 date code. This has to be one of the last Vac 51s made, and it wasn't used. I got it as payment for doing a lot of work on some Chiltons for a very fussy collector who was culling his collection of non-Chilton pens.

ITEM #2686:   A BRITISH PARKER 51 AEROMETRIC FOUNTAIN PEN SET WITH A ’53 DATE ON THE PEN BARREL AND NIB AND A ’54 DATE ON THE PENCIL. FROM BUSH HOUSE, LONDON.   THIS SET HAS NEVER BEEN INKED.  IT WAS GIVEN TO A NURSE IN SCOTLAND WHEN SHE GRADUATED FROM NURSING SCHOOL IN 1954.  SHE PREFERRED HER SHEAFFERS AND NEVER USED THIS SET.  THE CAPS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION, MARKED 1/10 12CT RGOLD.  THE LINE PATTERN ON THE GOLD FILLED CAPS IS UNIFORMLY SPACED ALL AROUND THE BOTTOM, SEPARATING INTO GROUPS OF 5 TAPERED LINES IN POINTED GROUPS AT THE TOP OF THE CAP SEPARATED BY WIDE BANDS AT THE TOP, WHICH TAPER TO THE UNIFORMLY SPACED BANDS AT THE BOTTOM.  THE BARRELS ARE BOTH MARKED “MADE IN ENGLAND”.  THE PENCIL IS A CAP ACTUATED PUSHER.    THEY SAT IN A DRAWER ALL HER LIFE UNTIL SHE WAS DIVESTING HER POSESSIONS AND I GOT MY HANDS ON THEM A FEW YEARS BACK.  THE BLACK PLASTIC IS SO CLEAN THAT IT SHINES LIKE A MONTBLANC, WITHOUT ALL THE SILICATES.  LOOKS LIKE A MEDIUM NIB, .040” WIDE AT THE TIP.  UNCOMMON FOR A 51.  ALSO UNCOMMON FOR A ’51, THE DATE CODE ON THE PEN AND NIB MATCH (’53).  A BEAUTIFUL SET;  EVEN THOUGH IT'S BLACK, IT KNOCKS YOUR EYES OUT.  THE BOX IS VERY CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT, WITH A “51” INSIDE A CIRCLE EMBLEM AND ABOUT A 7/8” SCRATCH ON THE TOP OF THE BOX.  I CAN’T FIND A NUMBER ON THE BOX;  I GUESS THE BRITS DIDN’T NUMBER THEIR 51 BOXES LIKE THEY DID IN THE USA.                                 $300 SET SOLD sold SOLD sold sold
