Features approximately 1/2 oz. of solid 14K gold with a richly hand engraved floral pattern topped with 5 rubies @ 1/2 Kt total plus a .02 Kt diamond. Medium Warranted 14K nib. Lever filled. No nicks, dents, dings or other observed flaws. I found this at a flea market in Long Beach, which is in LA County, where Van Cleef & Arpels had a shop in addition to their New York operation, according to my Gem appraiser.

CIN'TI O." BROAD nib. A very seldome come-by pen in incredible condition. There is a small amount of banded darkening, but the color in general is very strong compared to equivalently aged Sheaffer Jade Greens. No brassing or cracks. This pen tests out at 1.9cc ink capacity.

The writing color is gravity selected - you hold the pen horizontally, with the color small dot matching the ballpoint filler ink color you want facing up while you push the cap (this one is cap actuated). ITEM #5411: AA WATERMAN & Co's PORCELAIN SIGN. Besides being quite rare, this is a very puzzling configuration; Two double sided signs riveted together with each 'borrowing' about 2 inches of the back of its mate, having that part of itself missing. I can't figure how this got this way. There was an identical one in the recent auction of the Fred Krinke collection and it was cobbled together the same way; the description there read "...seems to be two signs matched up together." This is a really neat bit of advertising by Grinell sign & poster Co. NY.

You could take these apart nand have 2 double sided signs, but they would each be missing the right 2 inches.

ITEM #5268: NARDI 3 COLOR RETRACTABLE PENCIL. Black celluloid with gold fiilled trim. Mechanism works, and it is retractable. It's like a cap actuated mechanism when sending the leads out and it has a button on the top of the clip to retract the leads. The pencil gets longer when the leads are retracted and gets smaller when the leads are out. The first two photos show that difference. This pencil uses 0.065" dia. leads and has (3) black ones in it, as there are no more color 0.065" leads available. This is a large pencil, 6 1/2" when extended.

ITEM #4028: VACUUM-FIL RED / PEARL MARBLE LEVER FILLING FOUNTAIN PEN W/FLEXIBLE FINE NIB. Has a heavy FINE "VACUUM FIL MADE IN USA" size 2 nib. This is the first lever filling Vacuum Fil I've run across; I've always assumed from the name that they were all plunger fillers - that's not the case. This one has demonstrated a .9 cc capacity. It measures 4 3/4" long X .471" dia.
