The functionality of these pens was a disaster, in spite of causing around the block lines of customers waiting to get into Macy's when he first introduced his pens. Kenneth Parker is said to have made the comment (about Reynolds ballpoints) "...they can make 8 carbon copies but no original." They are neat looking writing instruments, but the just didn't work. ITEM #CF REFILL: BALLPOINT REFILLS FOR OLDER AND LATER CFs AND OTHER WATERMAN's BALLPOINTS. I had a batch of those funky old refills with the flared back ends made. These fit BOTH of the Waterman's CF ballpoint releases from the 50s and the ones from the 80s. They fit most of the other older Waterman's ballpoints shown below, the ones with the long monster springs. And they fit the newer 80s release CFs with the fold-over Rube Goldberg holders for the fillers (one of these pens is shown at the bottom of the first photo). They fit a lot of other early Waterman's ballpoints that aren't shown below; If yours has a flared back end on the refill and the monster spring, these will fit. The second photo shows typical Waterman's older non-CF ballpoints that these fit as well as a later "Classic" CF released in the 80s. The extremely well made and tasteful Kreisler pens listed below may seem to be receiving a lot of space here for a brand that nobody has heard of, but I had to list them prominently due to the quality displayed in their workmanship and styling. I don't know why this company didn't make it big, but we can only speculate it was due to business reasons, not hardware causes. These are very well made ballpoints. And they still work very well. I hope you will at east enjoy looking at them. I apologize for the problems encountered with the photography; it doesn't do them justice, but they were difficult to photograph due to the glares produced by the multi faceted surface designs extending deep into the metal's surface.

ITEM #4577: REYNOLDS PACKET BALLPOINT ON CLEAR RED PLASTIC STAND. In simulated leather tubular presentation box with papers. This was a part of the Dick Johnson collection.
Dick was way ahead of us, collecting this stuff way back when it first became surplus N.O.S. Usually these pens are pretty beaten-up if you can find them, never found this pristine and complete. The black anodized finish on this pen is almost perfect with very few flaws. the bare aluminum top dome unscrews so the pen can be placed in the clear red plastic base. You never find these with both the base and the removable aluminum dome. Of course, the ink in the filler has long since dried-out. There is a tight, straight, radial crack in the translucent red base. It can be seen in the photos below.

IITEM #MC: PARKER CAP ACTUATED BALLPOINT CLICKER ARBOR. This tool locks the clicker mechanism in a Parker cap actuated ballpoint so you can remove the jewel (you will need additional tool remove jewel). You insert the MC tool in the open end of a cap. Once the jewel has been removed, you can then remove the bushing. The bushing is the piece that holds the clip, cap shell, and internal mechanism all together. (What we call a jewel is "Clip Screw" in Parker repair manual parlance).
At this point you can work dents out of the cap or replace the clicker mechanism or clip, or whatever else your need may be with the cap disassembled. This works for all the vintage Parker cap actuated BPs: 51, 45, 61, etc. The two slots in the tool lock-up with two tabs in the clicker ratchet mechanism so you can apply torque to unscrew things holding the cap together. We suggest a Gooey cube and item our ITEM #13732 in addition to the MC tool.
Mike Conway, a Parker employee, was going around the plant in Janesville collecting the old one-way (to tighten) machine ends for putting caps together. Then he started putting handles on so they could be used to repair. He realized that THIS design - what's pictured below - was "what was needed" as it operates in both directions (to tighten and to loosen), so he made a bunch of these, one of which I glommed onto. (He said it was OK for me to make these, by the way) - Thus the part # designation, "MC".

ITEM #4659: PARKER HOPALONG CASSIDY BALLPOINT. Parker's first ballpoint! In extremely good condition with no chips, nicks, or paint missing from his hat (these are usually pretty beat-up). The rope script writing is fairly complete (this is usually all black - this example has about 85% of the rope in white). And of course the filling unit dried-out decades ago.
George Parker's grand daughter once bought one of these from me at the Chicago Pen Show. She recounted to me how the French had depleted the Parker Pen Archives in the U.S. by moving it to France and the Parker family was trying to re-build it here, and this was a classic type of pen that they definitely wanted.

It converts from a 3 1/2" unit to a regular sized 5" hand-fitting ballpoint. It could be stashed in a purse or a vest pocket.
